VFW Post 10558 hosted the event at their location in Cataula, Georgia. Harris County Sheriff’s Office provided a BBQ entry and a police cruiser for children to check out. Included was Cataula Volunteer Firefighters with a BBQ entry and firetruck for the children to check out as well.

The first annual Best BBQ in Harris County Competition kicked off on July 12, 2025, with a blast and huge turnout of 132 in attendance. There were 9 entries into the competition. All entries had amazing food and some of the best in the state in my opinion. The organization raised approximately $1,800.00.

Huge shoutout to all the atheletes with the Harris County Champs Special Olympics. Billy’s supermarket and Publix donated chips and drinks for the event and the competition chefs provided the BBQ. Special thanks for providing the donations for this cause. Also to Kim Pate for setting up this wonderful event.
