GT Arrest Backfires – Charges Dropped After Civil Rights Lawsuit
All criminal charges dropped against Russell Pickron in the May 8, 2025, arrest at the Talbot County Board of Education.

All criminal charges against Russell Pickron (GT) have been officially dismissed. On August 18, 2025, the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit returned a “NO BILL” of indictment, closing the door on the case.
To recap: on May 8, 2025, GT was arrested by the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office on a disorderly conduct charge, later shifted to a warrant arrest for loitering. After more than three months—and following the filing of a civil rights lawsuit against Richard Ousley and others—those charges have now been dropped.
So, what does this mean moving forward? The civil rights case already in litigation can now continue without delay, no longer held up by pending criminal charges.
To everyone who has stood behind this fight—thank you. Your support proves that “we the people” still hold the power.
