Southeastern Dental Center Hosts 7th Annual Free Dentistry Day Honoring Heroes

Hamilton, GA — September 11, 2025 — For the seventh year in a row, Southeastern Dental Center in Hamilton, Georgia, dedicated a full day of service to give back to those who give so much. On September 11th, the practice hosted its Annual Free Dentistry Day, welcoming Military members, Veterans, and First Responders for a day of no-cost dental care — a heartfelt way to honor those who protect, defend, and serve their communities and country.

The choice of date was no accident. Each year, the clinic holds the event on September 11th, a day of remembrance that has become a powerful symbol of sacrifice and resilience. For Southeastern Dental Center, it is a chance to transform remembrance into action — meeting practical needs for those who have selflessly met the needs of others.

A Day of Service, A Day of Gratitude

The event was open to all qualifying patients on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis. From early in the morning, the parking lot filled with cars, and the waiting room buzzed with conversations as uniformed officers, veterans in caps and jackets, and first responders stood side by side — a living reminder of the strength and diversity of service in America.

Over the course of the day, 67 heroes were served by the team, receiving everything from basic cleanings to restorative procedures such as fillings and tooth extractions. In total, the practice provided just over $72,000 in free dental care, lifting financial burdens while also ensuring that those who protect others can safeguard their own health.

Going Above and Beyond

The staff of Southeastern Dental Center did more than provide technical treatment — they delivered compassion, professionalism, and respect in every interaction. Patients described the atmosphere as welcoming and uplifting, with the entire team working seamlessly to ensure a smooth experience.

Special recognition was given to Dental Assistant Ella Weatherby, who was participating in her first Free Dentistry Day since joining the clinic. Despite it being her debut, she impressed both patients and colleagues with her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to patient care. Her passion for dentistry and for people was evident, setting a tone of excellence that did not go unnoticed.

“I was amazed at how thorough and caring Ella was,” one patient shared. “She carried herself like she’d been doing this for years, and you could tell she really cared about us as individuals, not just as patients.”

Compassion in Action

Of course, the backbone of the event rested with Dr. Sean Jeppesen and Dr. Hannah Jeppesen, who led the day’s treatments with skill and compassion. Patients consistently praised their ability to combine professionalism with genuine concern, making sure each person felt at ease throughout their procedure.

“I had the pleasure of being treated by both Dr. Sean Jeppesen and Dr. Hannah Jeppesen,” one participant said. “They provided outstanding care and ensured my comfort every step of the way. Their dedication is what makes Southeastern Dental Center feel like more than just a dental office — it feels like family.”

More Than Dentistry

While the numbers themselves were impressive, the day carried a significance that stretched far beyond dollar values and procedures. For many attendees, the event was a reminder that their sacrifices are noticed and appreciated. For others, it was an opportunity to address long-overdue dental needs that financial constraints may have otherwise delayed.

The sense of gratitude was mutual. For the staff and doctors, the chance to give back to those who dedicate their lives to protecting others was an honor. “We look forward to this day every year,” one staff member noted. “It’s not just about dentistry — it’s about community, gratitude, and service.”

A Tradition of Honor

Southeastern Dental Center’s Free Dentistry Day has become a cherished tradition in Harris County, one that continues to grow with each passing year. What began as a simple idea — to serve those who serve — has become a cornerstone event that embodies the practice’s values of compassion, excellence, and community.

As the sun set on September 11, the final patients left with brighter smiles — not only because of the dental work completed, but because of the kindness, respect, and honor they received. For Southeastern Dental Center, that is the true measure of success.
