Former Officer Criticizes Upcoming Seminar — But His Own Record Raises Questions
Resigned in lieu of termination from two agencies in Georgia.
A former law enforcement officer recently took to social media to hurl insults at GT News and its founder, calling GT a “thug,” a “check chaser,” and a “POS who couldn’t hold a job in law enforcement.” He also took a jab at Russ, referring to him as “Fat boy Russ” and accusing him of just “chasing a check.”
The comments were made under a promotional flyer for an upcoming seminar hosted by GT News. The event aims to educate citizens about their rights, the Georgia Open Records Act, and government accountability.
The critic, identified as Mr. Craig, mocked Russ’s alleged inability to maintain a job in law enforcement. But as the saying goes — is this the pot calling the kettle black?
After replying to Craig with a pointed question — “Do you lick the boot?” — Craig escalated the exchange with what appeared to be a veiled threat. That prompted GT News to begin reviewing Craig’s own background in law enforcement, after a reliable source came forward with credible information.
According to records from Georgia POST and other sources, Mr. Craig resigned in lieu of termination from the Shiloh Police Department in December 1993. He also resigned in lieu of termination from the Hogansville Police Department in March 2009. Interestingly, POST also shows he voluntarily resigned from Hogansville PD in July 2000, where he previously served as Assistant Chief of Police.
Despite Craig's claims about Russ’s inability to make it in law enforcement, GT’s own POST record does not reflect any resignations in lieu of termination.
Craig went further in his comments, claiming he wouldn’t attend any seminar led by GT and dismissing anyone who listens to Russ as “check chasers” — a phrase whose meaning remains unclear.
While everyone has a right to their opinion, perhaps Mr. Craig should have checked his own résumé before throwing stones.
Now, Mr. Craig wants to attend the seminar.
GT would like to offer Mr. Craig a special coupon for these limited-edition Pop Tarts.
