Defendant Ordered to Respond to Discovery After Not Participating in The Process

On July 09, 2025, Plaintiff Russell Pickron requested a hearing on the matter of the case filed against former Grantville Public Official Taylor Phillips. The motion was ultimately denied. However, Mrs. Phillips was ordered to provide answers to the interrogatories submitted by the Plaintiff in December 2024.

The hearing only lasted approximately 20 minutes. Defendant Phillips told Judge Emory Palmer that she would not be providing discovery to the Plaintiff and would rather go to jail.

Spouse Charles “Red” Phillips was removed from the Defendant’s table to place back in the general seating area. At the conclusion of the hearing Mr. Phillips told Judge Palmer that he would rather go to jail as well than to have to answer the discovery in a case.

A timeline was filed in the motion that sets suspense dates leading up to trial. As this case continues to unfold, we will keep you updated as practical.
