Grantville Mayor Being Sued for the Third Time

Grantville Mayor Richard Proctor is now being sued for the third time for alleged 1st Amendment violations and is now alleged to have slandered the journalist that’s been reporting on Grantville.

Grantville Mayor Being Sued for the Third Time

Grantville Mayor Richard Proctor now has a third against him as the mayor. On January 31, 2025, Russell Pickron (Georgia Transparency) has filed another lawsuit against Proctor in the Superior Court of Coweta County. This suit alleges another civil rights violation and slandering Mr. Pickron. Case number SUV2025000118.

On the mayors Facebook page titled “Richard Proctor Mayor Grantville Georgia” he hosts monthly Q&As. The Q&As are for the people to interact with the mayor and ask questions about the city. Mr. Pickron attempted to ask some questions as well as criticize Proctor in the performance of his duties.

Mayor Proctor stated in the live Q&A that Mr. Pickron was a convicted felon and has been convicted of stalking. Whereas no records could be located where Mr. Pickron has been convicted of any felonies nor ever charged with stalking.

Mr. Pickron served in writing via the mayor’s government issued email and his mayor’s Facebook page a request for retraction. Proctor appears to have deleted the post in its entirety and the comment by Mr. Pickron requesting the retraction.

Mayor Proctor is already litigating similar allegations for violating civil rights against Mr. Pickron and Grantville resident Robert Royce.

It looks that if you continue to report and expose this mayor he will continue to retaliate and label citizen journalists felons and false information about criminal history.
