Hogansville Officer on Administrative Leave for Allegations of Sexual Assault

A Hogansville Police Officer could be in hot water pending the findings in a GBI investigation. The unknown officer is on administrative leave for allegations of sexual assault. Georgia Transparency (GT) attempted to speak with the chief on February 4, 2025, and the chief was reported to have been in a meeting.

GT spoke with LT Hollis, and Hollis said that it is an ongoing investigation and couldn’t release any information. It was questioned to Hollis that the initial police report is exempt and can be release while the investigation is currently open. Hollis replied to GT that records will be denied on any open records. Could this violate the Georgia Open Records Act where an initial police report is exempt from the non-release.

An attempt was made to speak with other officers about the matter and they all denied they knew the officer’s name in question but stated they worked with him.

Sources have informed me that the officer under investigation may have had multiple complaints from various females.
