Grantville Proposes Doubling City Council Pay
Raises taxes three times during Mayor Proctors term and now wanting to double the city council pay. WHY?
The city of Grantville looks to be wanting to approve a doubling of pay for city council members to include Mayor Richard Proctor. Former Grantville City Council member Jim Sells addressed the council on January 27, 2025, city council meeting. Mr. Sells appears to be for the not doubling the pay.
Mr. Sells goes on and explains that people are moving out, utility bills are high, and a coffee shop & two restaurants have shut its doors. Mr. Sells states that it’s due to the already high cost of living in Grantville.
Now, the city council wants to vote to double the monthly pay to be on the city council. As Mr. Sells stated, it’s that taxpayers will have to pay the bill. Does this mean city taxes go up again or utilities are going to be increased? Mayor Richard Proctor is ruining the wonderful city and running it directly into the ground. Now, they want double pay. Where is the city manager spending all the money?
